I am a full-time college student at the University of South Florida. I already hold a Bachelors degree in Jazz Studies and am currently finishing up my internship for my Bachelors degree in Music Education. I will be looking into a few grad schools for the Fall of 2010. I am looking into both a Masters in Music Education and Jazz Studies.

John is a graduate of Santaluces Community High School in Palm Beach Florida, where he served as Drum Major his junior and senior year. John has previously taught at Clearwater High School where he served as a woodwind/visual tech in the fall of 2006. He also frequently teaches at Santaluces High School helping with summer rehearsals and camps, most recently in the summer of 2008. John was Woodwind Caption head and Jazz Director at J.W. Mitchell High School in the Fall of 2007.

John is currently in his fifth year at the University of South Florida where he is studying Music Education and Jazz Saxophone performance under Valerie Gillespie and Jack Wilkins. John has been apart of USF’s second Jazz band “The Deuce”, multiple small groups, combos and the world renowned Jazz Ensemble I, going on tour with them to Europe in the Summer of 2007. John is past president of USF’s student AJE chapter an organization whose purpose is to promote and develop Jazz and Jazz Education world wide. John is also on staff with USF’s Center for Jazz Composition, a research facility which advances the composer and brings in numerous guest artists such as Chick Corea, Bob Minzter, and Randy Brecker. John has performed with such artists as Jack Wilkins, Vince Dimartino, Pat Harbison, Shelly Berg, Tom Brantley, Dave Stamps, Larue Nickleson, and Steve Davis. John has also been a part of USF’s CMENC, and was on staff for USF’s Festival of Winds Opus 33.
